AEM Procures New Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S 9166 CNC CMM
AEM has recently added a Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S 9166, High Performance Precision CNC Coordinate Measurement Machine System to our expanding metrology department.
The Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S 9166 is a high-accuracy CNC coordinate measuring machine that guarantees a maximum permissible error of *E0,MPE = (1.7+3L /1000)μm. The machine has a measuring capability of 35” x-axis, 63” y-axis, 24” z-axis at .000004” resolution. This addition allows us to measure parts and provides AS9100 inspection reports automatically, as well as a large dedicated table area that enables high volume production. The Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S 9166 also brings versatile and diverse part inspection capability. It can measure five of six component sides without moving the part, aids us in reverse engineering capability with insulation components, and is excellent for measuring stator housing and core concentricity. Combining high speed and high acceleration, the Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S 9166 dramatically reduces AEM’s measuring times to increase efficiency.
